It really is true when they say ‘hard work pays off’. I started the blog in 2009 on a whim to get myself more aquatinted with the fashion industry {since my background is far from it} and dreamt that one day I would be a part of it. Fast forward to 2014, after many twists and turns and a couple of relaunches, Lyla Loves Fashion is hailed best blogger at the Grazia Style Awards this year! It is such an honor that the panel, which consisted of some of the big names in the industry both in the Middle East and the UK {one of them being blogger extraordinaire, Fashion Foie Gras} thought that little ol’ blog is worthy of being crowned the best. What an amazing feeling!
For the night of the awards, I wanted to wear a dress that was understated but with a hint of drama. I went for a one-shouldered mullet gown by Dubai based designer, Dima Ayad, whom was also a winner that night for Best Regional designer. I guess you could say it was meant to be! I styled the fun dress with a L’afshar clutch and strappy silver heels by Zara. I felt like an award winner and thanks to Dima, I looked like one too!
ماغلطت الناس لمن قالت: العمل الشاق يؤتي ثماره. بديت المدونة في سنة ٢٠٠٩ على أساس إني أكون مطلعة على عالم الأزياء {بما أن خلفيتي مايخصه بهالمجال}، وحلمت إنه في يوم من الأيام بكون جزء من هالعالم. في ٢٠١٤، من عقب كم من صعوبة وإعادة إطلاق المدونة، ليلى تحب الموضة حصل على جائزة أفضل مدونة إلكترونية في جائزة جرازيا للموضة لهالسنة! هذا فخر لي إنه لجنة التحكيم واللي تكونت من أسامي كبيرة في هالمجال من منطقة الشرق الأوسط والمملكة المتحدة {من ضمنهم المدونة المميزة موضة فوي جراس} فكروا إنه هالمدونة البسيطة تستحق لقب الأفضل. شعور مايوصف الصراحة! لليلة الحفلة بغيت ألبس فستان بسيط بس مع تلميح درامي شوي. لبست ثوب مغطي كتف واحد من مصممة من دبي، ديما عياض، واللي نفسها فازت في الحفلة كأفضل مصممة في هالمنطقة. لبست مع هالثوب شنطة كلاتش من لأشفار ونعال كعب من زارا. حسيت كأني فايزة في الحفلة وبالفعل فزت وكل الشكر لديما! ن
