The World of Jaeger-LeCoultre
Le Sentier, Switzerland
I will admit, this post is well overdue. And it is not because I have been taking my time but because technology was not on my side. Earlier this year, my laptop decided to die on me, taking with it all my files and folders. Basically losing 4 years of work {lesson learned}, including images from my trip to Geneva with Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Thankfully, a friend of mine helped me retrieve most of my content through nerdy computer voodoo. It took a {long} while but it is finally here. Better late than never, my mother always said.
One of the best ways to understand a brand and it’s ethos is from the inside. So I was super excited to be able to learn more about the prestigious watch brand, Jaeger-LeCoultre by visiting their HQ in Le Sentier, Switzerland.
Based in a picturesque town, I’m talking snow covered mountains and miles of woodland, the manufacturer dates back to 1833. In Dubai terms, thats pretty damn old. We got a chance to go around the highly guarded grounds of the luxury swiss watch manufacture and experience how their impeccably stunning watches and clocks are made. A lot of precision and man hours go into making Jaeger-LeCoultre watches {naturally} which words can no comprehend. It really made me appreciate the brand and love the designs even more. Other than what you see on the outside of the watch, the designs in the inside is just as spectacular.
We were taken from the conceptualization of the watch through to the final outcome. There are so many intricate steps taken and so many talented people that work on every little piece to produce a single watch. The way they transform a raw material into delicate bits and bobs {I am sure they have technical terms} is a delight to witness.
We also got a chance to go through archived pieces such as the smallest watch every created for the inauguration of the Queen of England to the highly restricted collection of clocks made for presidents and dignitaries.
I am truly honored to have had a chance to explore the world of Jaeger-LeCoultre. I am even more proud to be wearing a piece of art on my wrist everyday.

Look out for my desert shoot with Jaeger-LeCoultre coming soon!
